To our revered Principal, the most experience Professor-in-charge, the ever supporting HODs, all the esteemed faculty and the youthful and amazing students assembled here, I wish all of you a pleasant and wonderful morning. I am extremely pleased to inform you that the efforts of the whole department of training and placement have given a huge success as there has been a significant increase in this year’s progress regarding the orientation programs, guest lectures, placement drives and various other workshops conducted in our college premise. In the academic year of 2016-2017, there has been
- a total of 7 orientation programs;
- 4 guest lectures from various esteemed guests;
- 4 workshops;
- 7 training programs;
- 2 off-campus and 19 on-campus placement drives.
The first orientation program was conducted from the 16th to the 20thof June 2016 with the support of the entire department of training & placement in our college. Next we were able to rope in Mrs.Aarthi (Regional Head) and Mr.Jayakumar (Manager) from Magic Bus India Foundation on 21st July to give an orientation on the employability skills for the students. Later on the 3rd of August and on the 29th of September Mr. Fareed Ahmed (Manager of Edinbridge Skill Solution Pvt Ltd) gave an orientation on the CareerOpportunities in Tally for all the final year Commerce Students. Mr. Y. Idrees (Development Officer) and Mr. ChinnaRaju (Branch Manager) from LIC had an orientation program on the Career Opportunities in the Insurance Industry on the 15th of September. Mrs. Padma (Project Manager of RIPE Institute Pvt. Ltd) conducted an orientation on the Training Programs for all the UG Students on 3rd October. Final orientation was from the 5th to 29th of December conducted by the AGM and Chief Manager of Indian Bank on the Customer Awareness of Mobile Banking.
The first guest to give a lecture in our college was Mrs. Gayatri (AGM of ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu) from the 4th to 9th July on the Inauguration ofEntrepreneurial Development Program. On 9th July we had another guest lecture by Mr. Amit Ravi from SIDBI on Financial Assistance for Startups. On the 5th of October we got to witness an important lecture on the Importance of Communication Skills & Computer Education for the IInd year students by Mrs. Razeetha who is the HR Manager of Moral Hand EP Technologies. We had one final lecture on 22nd November by Mr. A. Selvam and Mr.Gurukul from Edinbridge Skill Solution Pvt Ltd to discuss about Marketing in the Automobile Industry.
We now come to the workshops conducted by our college. We first organized a Mock Interview Session on 19thSeptember headed by our esteemed Mrs. Uma Krishnamurthy, TCS Trainer and also the very experienced Prof. S. Ganapathy,Dept- In-Charge, Management Studies. We then had a workshop on the techniques required in an interview for final year MBA and MCA students on 30th September and all the final year UG students on the 1st of October by Mrs. Deepa and Mrs. Krithika from Image Consulting Business Institute. In association with the Rotary Club, Ambattur, we organized a final workshop on 18th February on How to face Interviews which was conducted by MrNaresh R(Executive Talent Acquistion Group; HCL Technologies Ltd).
There were a number of training programs organized this year. The first training program was on Soft Skill Development organized by our own Mrs. Uma Krishnamurthy from 22nd June to 4th October 2016. There was also a training program for Employability Training on Communication Skills, Basic Computer Skills & Personality Development conducted byMs. Nicholette, Mr. Nithya Kumar, Mrs. Gomathi and Mr. Viswa from the Magic Bus India Foundation from 27th July to 20th September. Then there was an aptitude training conducted by Mr. Jayaraman, the Project Co-ordinator from Mahindra Pride conducted from the 27th of September to the 1st of October. From the 4th October to 7th December we organized a training program on Soft Skills and Aptitude Training done by the trainers from RIPE Institute Pvt Ltd in association withBARCLAYS &LAURUS-EDUTECH. For the healthy wellbeing of our students Yoga classes were conducted between the 13th and 15th October by yoga instructors from Art of Living in association with RIPE Institute Pvt Ltd. There was another aptitude training program conducted by Mr. Karthik from Mahindra Pride School from the 29th of November to the 21st of December.
A screening test for Tally Program was conducted by our college for all the final year commerce students on the 19th of August 2016. There was also an online test for NIIT Certification on 3rd December conducted by the Magic Bus India Foundation for which 120 students attended.
Last month there were two off-campus drives conducted; one on the 1st of Feb for BCA students by TCS where 10 students attended; and another on the 27th of Feb for B.Com, B.Sc and BCA students by Carizen Software Pvt. Ltd where 7 students attended the placement drive.
For the on-campus placement drive, there were a total of 19 companies which had attended. Here 1201 students attended of which 425 students got placed. Auto Gurukul placement drive was attended by 15 students of which 7 got placed. On the same day Dentistree had placed 6 of the 25 students who had attended. 49 students attended the interviews for both Vertex Solutions Pvt. Ltd and Youngmind Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Of these 37 got placed in Vertex and 5 got placed in Youngmind. HDFC next appointed 17students of the 35 who attended. Of the 220 students who attempted the placement of GTT and Sundaram Business Services, 26 got placed in GTT while 7 got placed in Sundaram Business Services. TCS recruited all the 10 students who had attempted the interview. Later Eureka Forbes and Magnus Customer Dialog Pvt.Ltd had 163 attempters of which Eureka Forbes Ltd recruited 48 students and Magnus selected 25. 5 Elements Entertainment Pvt. Ltd selected all the 10 students who had attempted the interview. Bank Zone selected 34 out of 80 students while RubixInfotech selected 75 out of 160 students. Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Pvt. Ltd selected 57 out of 110 attempters while Sutherland Global Services selected 10 out of 110. CAMS placed 27 students out of 70 who had attempted the interview. Alcance Technologies then recruited 7 out of the 60 who has appeared for the interview. Only one student out of 42 was able to crack the interview in CSS Corp Pvt. Ltd. The final interview was by First Source Solutions Ltd where 21 students got placed.
We are also pleased to announce a scholarship distribution to over 19 students by Mr. Vinoth Raj, Deputy Manager (HR) of Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.
TCS offered Training on Employability Skills for Passed-Out Students in the month of May & June 2017. They are ended with Campus drive by their HRs. Out of 20 students 13 got placed in TCS.
Overall the academic year of 2016-2017 was an eventful one as numerous events were organized with the continuous and endearing support of both the staff and students. We shall strive to deliver an even more eventful and glorious report for the next academic year.
