The department of Economics was started in the academic year 1972 with the old PUC pattern in the year 1972 degree course were initiated. It was elevated to a Post Graduates Degree in the (M.A. – Business Economics) same year onwards. It is stated with motive of providing quality education to the student of Chennai.
