Initiative Overview

All students are required to generate their Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) / Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID as part of the “One Nation, One Student ID” initiative under the National Education Policy 2020.

This ID is used for Credit uploading and grade sheet uploading through the NAD Institution login.

Key Features of APAAR/ABC ID

  • Unique Identification: Links to DigiLocker for secure storage of academic documents like exam results.
  • Academic Bank of Credit (ABC): Enables the seamless transfer and storage of academic credits through the National Academic Depository.

Registration Process

Important Prerequisite: To register for an APAAR ID, students must have a valid AADHAAR card.

The APAAR ID can be obtained either through the DigiLocker website or the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) portal. Choose your preferred method below:

Method 1: Registering via DigiLocker

  1. Visit the DigiLocker website: digilocker.gov.in
  2. Click ‘Login/Register’ and create an account by entering your mobile number, address, and Aadhaar card details.
  3. Log in to your DigiLocker account using your credentials.
  4. Select ‘Search Documents’ and search for ‘Academic Bank of Credits’.
  5. Choose the ‘APAAR/ABC ID Card’ option.
  6. Fill in your personal and academic details, check the consent box, and click ‘Get Document’.
  7. After submitting the form, your APAAR ID card will be generated.
  8. Go to ‘Issued Documents’ and click the download icon next to ‘APAAR/ABC ID Card’ to download your ID.

Method 2: Registering via ABC Portal

  1. Visit the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) website: abc.gov.in
  2. Click on ‘My Account’ and select the ‘Student’ option.
  3. Click ‘Sign Up’ and provide your mobile number, address, and Aadhaar card details to create a DigiLocker account.
  4. Log in to your DigiLocker account.
  5. When prompted, select ‘I agree’ to consent to sharing your Aadhaar details with ABC for KYC verification.
  6. Enter your academic information, including your school or university name, class, and course details.
  7. Submit the form to generate your APAAR ID card.
